This acrylic painting explores the quiet, layered relationships of Malaysia’s tropical rainforests. At its center is the Long-nosed Horned Frog (Pelobatrachus nasutus), a master of camouflage blending into fallen leaves, set beneath a towering Red Meranti (Shorea parvifolia). By placing these two species together on canvas—tiny amphibian and massive tree—I highlight how such different forms are linked by shared shade, moisture, and constant leaf litter.
